Did you know that an elevated cell count can cause an average of 5 liters of milk loss per cow per day?
See the practical example here:
- Green line – Cows with a cell count below 50,000 produce an average of 35 liters per day.
- Yellow line – In cows with a cell count above 50,000, milk loss is already starting to become visible.
- Red line – Cows with a cell count above 200,000 do not exceed 30 liters per day in this case.
This demonstrates the importance of closely monitoring udder health and taking preventative measures. Severe mastitis that progresses to chronic inflammation can lead to continued milk loss for the rest of the cow’s life.
